W.L. Nutrient Agar This medium was developed by Green and Gray in 1950 for the isolation and enumeration of yeasts, moulds and bacteria in the brewing process.
Water Plate Count Agar A nutritious non-selective medium which conforms to ISO 5222:1999(E). The estimation of overall numbers of microorganisms can be used for the assessment and surveillance of water quality.
Wort Broth (Modified) A broth version of LAB038 Wort Agar developed by Parfitt for the enumeration of yeasts and moulds in butter.
XLD Agar This medium was introduced by Taylor in 1965 to improve the recovery and recognition of Shigella spp., and has proved to be an excellent medium for Salmonella spp.
